Who we are and what we do
Merging her experience as a designer with her love and knowledge of plants, Dede Delaney started Redtwig Garden Design in 2002. In addition to her horticulture and landscape design certificate, Dede holds a BFA in textile design from Rhode Island School of Design. She applies many of the same design principles (color, texture, and pattern) to her plant combinations. Her experience as a designer has been successfully combined with her love and knowledge of plants.

Dede is a member of A.H.S., E.L.A., N.E.W.F.S., a member of the Association of Professional Landscape Designers and is a CT NOFA accredited professional. She is a Library of American Landscape History board member.

Redtwig offers a range of services including:

  • Garden Coaching: Sometimes an on-site consultation is all you may need to go forward on your own. Redtwig can provide anything from pruning advice to plant identification.
  • Designing/Planning: Based on your wishes and Dede's expertise, Redtwig can create a design that works for your property and budget.
  • Installation/Planting: Upon your approval of the design plan, Redtwig will source, purchase and install plants.
  • Maintenance: After planting we can develop a low maintenance plan to keep your garden looking great year round.

Recent clients include Lyman Allyn Memorial Garden, Connecticut Audobon Society, the non profit agency Horizons, and The Commons project in Windham. Contact Redtwig for a look at our portfolio of before-and-after successes. And, check out our houzz profile for more photos.
